KFC, Afrika Tikkun, MiDesk, Rhiza Ventures, And Colleen Larsen Were Honoured At The CSI Legacy Awards 2025

The prestigious CSI Legacy Awards 2025 celebrated excellence in Corporate Social Investment (CSI), honouring organisations and individuals making a lasting impact on South African communities. Held on 27 February 2025 and hosted at Ster Kinekor Rosebank The Zone, the event brought together key leaders in social development and corporate philanthropy to recognise outstanding contributions in the sector.
KFC was awarded Best Corporate for its dedication to sustainable and impactful CSI initiatives through its Add Hope programme. Afrika Tikkun took home the Best NGO award for its unwavering commitment to empowering young people through its Youth Cradle to Career model, which integrates education, health, and social development programmes. MiDesk was recognised as the Best Rising NGO, acknowledging its innovative approach to education access and youth development through its mobile desks that double as both a desk and a chair.
The Best Social Enterprise award went to Rhiza Ventures was awarded Best Social Enterprise for its pioneering sustainable enterprise solutions that uplift underserved communities, particularly through its innovative Amphathy Clinic. The evening also honoured Colleen Larsen, who was named Best Woman in CSI for her remarkable leadership in advancing gender equity and social development in South Africa, particularly through her work in gender mainstreaming.
Distinguished guests included Steven Zwane, Managing Executive Corporate Affairs at Absa, Dr. Imtiaz Sooliman, CEO of Gift of the Givers, Former MEC for Finance from the Free State, and Former Deputy Minister of Social Development, Dr. Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu, all of whom commended the honourees for their invaluable contributions to the sector.
The event was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa, Standard Bank, and Old Mutual, whose commitment to social impact continues to drive meaningful change.
