Vergelegen Wine Estate was established in 1700. It is a provincial heritage site and is recognised for its environmental initiatives. The Estate is self-sufficient for all its water needs and willingly shares its sustainability learnings.

Under Wayne Coetzer’s leadership, the estate has grown its wine, hospitality and environment sectors. Wayne’s motivated and passionate team ensures that Vergelegen is a must-visit destination. Community initiatives include an eLearning hub. The Estate assists a local NPO with protea sales to raise funds, with sales managed through the Estate’s restaurants.
