After a full year of planning and putting together the inaugural South African CSI Legacy Awards, we are pleased to report that the event, held on 24 February, was exceptional in every way. Our industry came out in droves to participate in the celebration, showcasing the road taken by our corporates and NGOs over the past two years. Look out for the next edition of our niche print magazine, CSI Matter: CEOs and their CSI, in which we give the full report with photos.

Congratulations to our amazing finalists. All of our twelve finalists are stars, having distinguished themselves from a total of 94 entries.
And our winners were:

  1. Best Corporate – Coca Cola Beverages South Africa. Visit their winning video here (click me) to witness their winning formula.
  2. Best NGO – Reach For A Dream Foundation. Visit their winning video here (click me).
  3. Best Rising NGO – Play Africa. Visit their winning video here (click me).

The Awards were a true reflection of all that is good in CSI, shining a spotlight on the energy, innovation and goodwill that thrives in South African society. In the days following the awards, we were inundated with congratulatory phone calls and emails – thank you! This awards are all about CSI South Africa, and the amazing work that so many of us do behind the scenes.

We also received a number of calls from potential partners interested in some of our finalists. This alone goes to show one of the great benefits of programmes of this kind – the world gets to hear of the great work being done by NGOs, all of whom require the support to scale up operations. If you’d like to find out more about any of our finalists, please contact us on pro@csrnews.africa

No sooner are we done than preparations begin for 2023’s Awards. Look out for the new nomination process that will be launched in about three months’ time – and note that we’ll be bringing in a whole new category  – the CEO’s Award. You might begin considering all that your CEO does to inspire and lead by example in ushering in true social justice and development in South Africa.
