Editor-In-Chief

Hello CSI

Welcome to Our Spring/Summer Edition,

As our team assembled this edition, it took longer than usual to bring everything together. Firstly, I wish to extend my appreciation to Ms Phumzile Mlambo- Ngcuka for graciously being part of this issue. I would also like to thank our partners and everyone else who continues to work alongside us, truly leading from the front.

We are pleased to introduce and welcome our new partners, notably Absa and The Sports Trust, who have joined us for this edition.

Once again, we extend our thanks to Alef Meulenberg from Rhiza, who continues to collaborate with us year after year. We are thrilled to introduce the promising young talent, Kabelo, in our “People to Watch” section for Coca-Cola Beverages. We also welcome our long- standing partner, Palesa from Aranda Textile, who has been working with us for the past three years. This edition signifies our rebrand – representing a fresh face, a new look, a new concept, and an innovative way of doing things.

We now have two editions: the spring/summer edition and the winter edition. We are incredibly excited to have gathered some remarkable thought leaders in this issue, individuals who are working with us to craft powerful stories that resonate deeply. I am particularly delighted to introduce our business directory in this issue – a first for us – where you can find the email addresses across various sectors, from corporates to NGOs. At this stage, we’ve included names and contact details, though not yet categorised by their specific focus. You’ll find this directory in the final pages.

We also cover the legacy of our previous awards and the success we continue to achieve every year. Here at Simphiwe Mtetwa, our mission is to change the future and trajectory of Corporate Social Investment (CSI), ensuring that we are partnering with you to elevate the face of CSI in South Africa and take it to the next level. I’m pleased to announce that we are expanding our scope, and refining our focus on transformation within CSI, as well as in the broader social development sector. Thank you once again for following us and being part of every issue we create. We hope you enjoy this read and are looking forward to seeing you in the next edition.

Simphiwe Mtetwa,

Editor-in-Chief, Simphiwe Mtetwa
