As we begin this year, I am experiencing a range of feelings. I was scheduled to return to work on February 1 after taking a two-month break (I actually published an article about it), but I really started last week. Last week, I was in tears for two different reasons.
Prior to February 1, 2023, the judging platform needed to be ready, therefore I was in responsibility of assessing and approving the South African CSI Legacy Awards finalist films. I was in awe of the finalists’ amazing effort after viewing the combined footage. The honor of having the opportunity to summarize the many years of labor of so many strong organizations in a short period of time moved me.
The second reason I started sobbing was when I thought about how fortunate I was to be able to record these experiences. Even though the Old Mutual Foundation had been around for 21 years, I still recall the day they requested us to write an annual report. I remembered how moved I was the first time I handled the report, before even the Old Mutual staff had seen it.
The CSI Legacy Awards judging will occur from February 1 until February 14, 2023. There will be a public voting session from February 6 to February 14, and each vote will be worth one point. The public votes will be considered in the case of a tie between the judges and adjudicators.
This year, we are now selling event tickets, which are ZAR698 inclusive of VAT. Only 70 seats are available for purchase; the remaining tickets will be given to the 2022 award nominees, judges, and winners.
Make sure you follow us on all of our social media channels if you’re thinking about attending or taking part in the judging process. We’re looking forward to a terrific year ahead!
