The Inaugural Women In CSI Summit 2022 – Power, Purpose And Building Resilient Communities

The future of development requires an acknowledgement of the shared values of all voices and the extending of common ground. The Women In CSI Summit looks at three aspects of development in CSI: the voices of women shaping development in South Africa, industry transformation, and the situation that enables women to use their voices most effectively.

From the audience pool, women account for 60 percent of CSRNEWS readers, while 90 per cent of those are buyers of our products. In a changing CSI landscape, this is a clear indication that the future of women in the CSI atmosphere is looking brighter than ever.

As we round off Mandela Month and see Women’s Month on the horizon, it is fitting that we commemorate these two months filled with impact, transformation and change by celebrating women at the forefront of the magic. The 2022 Women In CSI Summit is set to take place on 26 July, in association with Old Mutual Insure, the National Lotteries Commission, Sun International, the Trevor Noah Foundation, Indalo Inclusive, and the GivenGroup Foundation.

Addressing the changes in the dynamic CSI industry, this year’s summit tackles the difficult conversations around CSI Boardrooms and Bosses as well as a hosting a discussion about Natural Disasters and Humanitarian Support. In addition, we will be officially launching the latest issue of MATTER magazine with Trevor Noah on the front cover. We will take a close look at his vision for education through the work of the Trevor Noah Foundation, led by Executive Director Shalane Yuen.

The panel of keynote speakers includes Dr Yaa-Ashantewaa Archer-Ngidi, Professor Steven Friedman, Dave Wilson, Antonia Oakes, Sarah Hugow, Shalane Yuen and various others. Partnering with CSRNEWS to bring you this exciting summit is Sun International and Indalo Inclusive.

Nominations for the Leading Women In CSI have been pouring in and on the day of the summit we will reveal the top 12 women. These women will be celebrated for being the force behind driving change and for bringing transformation to the lives of those they encounter through the work that they do. The women will be invited to an exclusive photo shoot for a calendar which will be digitally unveiled on 9 August in celebration of Women’s Day. This calendar will be available both digitally and in print.

The direction which the CSI industry as a whole is taking requires leaders to change the way they think in order to bring practical solutions where they matter the most. The Women In CSI Summit recognizes the hard work of these women, especially with the challenges posed by the recent floods, the unrest, and the pandemic. It is these issues, amongst others, that force us to look at CSI initiatives and strategies differently.

Significantly, the summit is a great place for like-minded leaders, and we will close off the day with a networking session over cocktails. Since we are all about connecting decision makers with change makers, this summit is a great place to gather with champions for change.
